Camera test chart company DSC Labs reborn

Digital imaging technician and image workflow specialist Matt Conrad acquired DSC Labs last summer and has been appointed CEO

After shutting down in April 2025, DSC Labs has returned under new leadership.

In July 2024, the company’s founders Susan and David Corley announced plans to close the company after 60 years in the industry.

Over its 60 years, DSC Labs created camera test charts and also carried out research into television phosphor chromaticities and computerised calibration methods that helped align test materials with EBU and other phosphor standards.

Digital imaging technician and image workflow specialist Matt Conrad acquired DSC Labs last summer and has been appointed CEO.

“While camera sensors and imaging systems have become more stable and reliable over the past decade, productions are working with a wider mix of formats, camera systems, and lighting tools than ever before. That makes a strong baseline reference essential for achieving a cohesive look,” said Conrad.

“I’m excited to guide DSC Labs and continue developing and supporting modern workflows for colour and imaging.”

Following the acquisition, DSC Labs has moved its headquarters from Toronto, Canada to Los Angeles.
