BTS goes short for Asian games

BTS is building an outside broadcast truck for the 27th South East Asia Games in Burma in what it claims is record breaking time. Although the games will be held in December 2013, the delivery of the OB vehicle is scheduled for August, which means an “extremely short lead time of less than six months.” However, it says that its “vast experience in OB vans and unique construction techniques developed in-house,” means it is well positioned to meet the aggressive delivery timeline. “With our proven track record of delivering over 555 OB vans, we have developed and time-tested a range of unique solutions, many of them patented, designed to enable the most efficient performance,” said a statement from the company. “We can comfortably deliver a sophisticated OB van to fulfil the most challenging contracts, as this is what distinguishes BTS from many of our competitors.” The 10.5m two-axel truck will be a full HD OB vehicle with three production areas and will be equipped with: eight Grass Valley LDX Premiere cameras; Grass Valley Kayak HD 2.5 M/E production switcher; Grass Valley Concerto routing switcher; two Grass Valley K2 Dyno replay systems; Grass Valley Gecko Modular units; and a Yamaha audio mixer. David Fox www.bts-broadcast.com
