BT and Nevion to provide global media network solutions

BT Media and Broadcast has signed an agreement with Nevion to provide media network solutions to broadcasters throughout the world.

BT Media and Broadcast has signed an agreement with Nevion to provide bundled media network solutions to broadcasters throughout the world. The agreement will see the companies integrate BT’s Global Media Network (GMN) service with Nevion’s video compression and transport equipment to provide combined solutions to broadcasters.

Mark Wilson-Dunn (pictured), global vice president of BT Media and Broadcast said: “By combining our Global Media Network with Nevion’s market-leading equipment and expertise, we can offer a unique proposition for broadcasters and indeed any businesses that need professional quality media, transported in realtime between locations.”

“We have already proven the value of these joint services for some of the leading names in broadcasting, so it makes sense to work together even more closely in future and work on ways to increase that value.”

Nevion CEO Geir Bryn-Jensen added: “We are obviously delighted with this agreement. We have a relationship with BT that goes back a long way. We even have a technical centre of excellence on BT’s Adastral Park campus in Ipswich, UK, which means we can work very closely together. So formalising the relationship made a lot of sense, given the clear benefits BT and Nevion can offer jointly to our customers and our proven track record of delivering solutions together.”
