Avid solutions will be used to power the post production of this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Avid Elite partner VIDELIO – Cap’Ciné is once again providing post production facilities for Le Grand Journal de Canal +, Orange Cinema Series, TV Festival and L’Oreal which will produce festival coverage airing on France’s Orange TV, YouTube, Dailymotion, Canal Plus and L’Oreal Website. Broadcast worldwide, viewers will have a front row seat to live interviews with talent and behind the scenes crew, red carpet footage, press conferences and film reviews.
The on-location editing teams will be employing the Avid MediaCentral platform to provide a workflow for the production. Four centralised ISIS storage systems will be installed to provide power, reliability and storage capacity to sustain real time workflows in the demanding environment. Two Avid AirSpeed 5000 acquisition servers are also being utilised for their ingest and playout capability, slow motion playback and support for third party editing systems. All 26 editing stations will be equipped with Avid Media Composer software.
