Italian DVD authoring and Blu-ray production facility, Arte Video, has upgraded its Quantel iQ to a Pablo colour correction and finishing system, added the Neo control panel and boosted its workflow with the addition of Pablo PA (pictured). Arte Video’s investment with Quantel is the result of its increasing HD business, and also in anticipation of growing demand for Stereo3D finishing. Based in the city of Palmanova in North East Italy, Arte Video has built a reputation over two decades for delivering high quality results for its clients. “Despite our remoteness from the Italian capitals of cinema and post production in Rome and Milan, we have earned a name for delivering high quality services, always fulfilling our customers’ requirements,” said Arte Video co-founder, Giuseppe Tissino. “While the mainstream post production industry around the world is suffering a major downturn at the moment, the high quality end of the business has held up well. With its speed and very high quality, Pablo is the perfect system to help us exploit this area of the market. The work we did with Pablo on the trailer for the movie The Mill and The Cross is a great example of this. The power of Quantel systems enables the post production of very different materials very quickly and at very high quality,” Tissino concluded. “Pablo PA will help our workflow by handling conforms and prep work prior to projects going into the Pablo suite,” added co-founder Claudio Zorzenon. “It will also be used to make the animated menus for DVD and Blu-ray films. Alongside the Pablo, it will help us develop and further improve our quality in DVD, Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D movie production. 3D is the new frontier; our first step into the 3D world will be focused on the management of materials for the making of Blu-ray 3D animated menus.” www.quantel.com
