Amazon Prime Video to kick off Premier League matches in HDR

Fans will also be able to take advantage of a new in-game match selector, accessible during a live match to switch between multiple concurrent fixtures without leaving the stream

Amazon’s Prime Video has announced plans to show select Premier League matches in High Dynamic Range (HDR) during December.

The streamer holds the rights to all matches across two fixture rounds, midweek matches on 5th, 6th and 7th December, and post-Christmas games on the 26th, 27th and 28th.

As part of its announcement about plans for coverage of the games, Prime Video said select games will be available in HDRto offer fans a wider range of colour and greater contrast between light and dark, creating a more vivid view of the action”.

Fans will also be able to take advantage of a new in-game match selector, accessible during a live match to switch between multiple concurrent fixtures without leaving the stream. The selector can be accessed by pressing down on a TV remote or swiping up on a phone or tablet. 

Prime Video has also revealed a brand-new studio dubbed the ‘Prime Video Pavilion’, as well as new hosts Jeff Stelling and Dan Walker joining its presenting line-up.
