ARRI has announced the launch of a new range of battery-powered, multi-colour LED bars for motion picture, live entertainment, and content creation.
Respectively two and four feet in length, Omnibar 2 and Omnibar 4 combine full-spectrum output, modular scalability and IP65 weather protection for both indoor and outdoor use.
Designed to support a broad range of use cases, Omnibar’s modular design can be easily daisy-chained, said the company. Up to 12 feet of fixtures can be connected in a single daisy chain, or up to 24 feet across two or more, with the Omnibase hub providing a single power and data source, reducing setup times and simplifying cable requirements.
A light output of CRI 98 at 5600K / TLCI 98 matches with other ARRI LED fixtures, enabling both illumination and dynamic in-camera effects and smoothly rendered high resolution design elements, by 32 pixel zones in Omnibar 4 and 16 in Omnibar 2.
Featuring interchangeable, magnetically fixed optics, both bars are available with either a black or blue/silver housing. Options include a Round Diffuser for soft, tube-like ambient light, a Flat Diffuser for controlled, bar-like output designed for in-camera effects and live events and an Intensifier boosting brightness and focus for high-output use cases. Additionally, the bars can be used open-face to provide maximum brightness when bouncing light, integrating into set design or using a softbox, said ARRI.
Controllable via its onboard interface, a Bluetooth app, wired DMX or wirelessly via the integrated TimoTwo CRMX chip, the Omnibar range is suitable for both permanent installations and location-based projects, added the company.
