7fivefive extends BBC Studios collaboration

The partnership is enabling BBC Studios' Global Media and Streaming teams to scale its virtual architecture, supporting post-production and content-based workflows

7fivefive has announced an expansion of its strategic partnership with BBC Studios.

Building on a partnership which began in 2020 and has helped guide BBC Studios’ digital transformation programme, systems integrator 7fivefive is now underpinning post production processes for the Global Media and Streaming teams, enabling cross time-zone collaboration and effective resource management.

Utilising the capabilities of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Adobe within a unified cloud environment, the latest phase of the project is allowing regional departments to access secure content from anywhere, manage allocation and act on data-driven insights. Detailed analytics enable predictive cost metrics and automated budget management.

Dynamically scaling active resources, the system allows provisioning and optimisation of virtual workstations based on real time requirements and automated controls aim to enhance productivity. Resources are customised to meet teams’ needs for specific creative tasks, across editing, graphics, colour grading, branding and compliance.

Tim Burton, managing director of 7fivefive, commented, “We are extremely proud to continue our long-standing partnership with BBC Studios, providing the technology, insights, and strategic support that helps to power its Cloud-first approach to post-production infrastructure. These workflows enable creative teams to focus on the task at hand, whilst the complexity of integrated cloud resources is handled via an intuitive interface. Our shared commitment to innovation ensures that they are well-equipped for the challenges of tomorrow’s media landscape.”

Emma Ellis, creative services technology manager, global technology at BBC Studios added, “7fivefive’s cloud expertise and practical insight has been key in helping us modernise our creative technology stack and post-production workflows, allowing us to implement meaningful optimisations with confidence and efficiency. These enhancements have increased flexibility across our creative teams, allowing seamless access to remote editing resources and global media content from anywhere. This shift has not only introduced additional operational efficiencies, but has ensured we can continue delivering high-quality, engaging content to our audiences worldwide.”
