LTN has announced an integration connecting Sony’s Ci Media Cloud platform with LTN Schedule Playout, streamlining the movement and management of content between the environments.
With growth in demand from broadcasters, public media organisations and other content owners for interoperability between cloud-based solutions and the real-time infrastructure needed to deliver linear channels, the collaboration aims to combine the two complementary technologies.
Channel creators will be able to access their cloud-based Ci inventories from within the LTN Schedule Playout interface, previewing available media for seamless use and enabling media organisations to originate, manage and automate full-time linear channels and live programming.
Additionally, the workflow allows the automatic transfer of file assets and live stream recordings from LTN Playout back into Ci, creating a bi-directional connection to reduce manual intervention and streamline content movement.
Rick Young, SVP, global products at LTN, said, “Media companies need technology that works together without adding another layer of operational complexity. By integrating Ci directly with LTN Schedule Playout, we’re connecting best-in-class cloud media management with proven real-time playout and automation capabilities. Customers can move content more efficiently between environments while maintaining the flexibility to build workflows around their specific operational needs.”
“Ci is built to make media more accessible and collaborative across increasingly cloud-based workflows. Our work with LTN extends that value directly into linear playout, giving mutual customers a more connected and efficient way to move content from media management through to air,” added David Rosen, VP, cloud applications and services, Sony Electronics.
Users are able to browse and preview assets in Ci without leaving the LTN environment, removing reliance on conventional object-storage interfaces. Content can be moved directly into the playout workflow, simplifying handling whole ensuring visibility is preserved.
The two companies will continue to explore expanded integration capabilities and joint customer opportunities.
