AWS Elemental MediaConvert supports encoding for Dolby Vision, Audio

Enables wider colour gamut and "greater luminosity range" for video outputs

AWS Elemental has announced its MediaConvert video processing service now offers support for Dolby Vision high dynamic range (HDR) video encoding and Dolby Atmos audio encoding for immersive surround sound.

AWS said using MediaConvert with Dolby Vision HDR enables a wider colour gamut and greater luminosity range for video outputs. The HDR processing and metadata generation into profile 5 Dolby Vision is handled in MediaConvert, without requiring any additional processing.

MediaConvert also supports Dolby Atmos audio encoding from channel-based immersive sources.

“With AWS Elemental MediaConvert, video providers can easily and reliably transcode on-demand content for broadcast and multiscreen delivery,” said AWS in a blog post. “MediaConvert functions independently or as part of AWS Elemental Media Services, a family of services that form the foundation of Cloud-based workflows and offer the capabilities needed to transport, transcode, package, and deliver video.”
