Interra Systems has announced an upgrade to its ORION platform.
The update aims to enhance quality assurance for broadcast engineering and operations teams, simplifying the performance of deep, frame-by-frame debugging of monitored streams.
A new stream recording support feature enables segments of monitored streams to be captured, particularly around error events. Recordings include a 5-6 second buffer prior to the error occurring, continuing either until the issue is resolved or for a user-set duration. Recordings can be manually triggered, scheduled or initiated during ad transitions, providing flexibility in capturing critical stream data.
Interra also announced the integration of its ORION platform with Baton Media Player (BMP). Enabling root cause analysis of errors and anomalies, the integration allows users to transition from real-time monitoring to frame-accurate playback and deep inspection in BMP. The combined workflow aims to accelerate identification of issues, reduce manual effort and ensure compliance and quality standards are met ahead of content distribution.
Users can launch BMP with a single click from within the ORION interface. Errors detected during the recording window are displayed automatically in BMP, providing access to relevant timestamps and enabling frame-by-frame analysis. The integration eliminates the need for manual exports and external tools, said the company, reducing the time and effort taken to both identify and resolve issues.
Anupama Anantharaman, vice president of product management at Interra Systems, said, “Our goal with the ORION–BMP integration was to make it easier for customers to move from detection to diagnosis within a single, streamlined workflow. By connecting real-time monitoring with frame-level playback and inspection, we’re helping operations teams pinpoint issues faster and resolve them with precision. This enhancement reflects our ongoing commitment to simplifying quality assurance workflows while enabling customers to deliver flawless content across every platform.”
ORION-OTT already includes BMP integration for debugging VoD assets. Recording support for live streams in the solution is planned for a future release.
