GatesAir will introduce its Maxiva XTK software-defined exciter, described as a next-generation signal processing engine for its Maxiva digital television transmitters at next month’s IBC Show.
“Designed to support broadcasters across worldwide digital transmission standards, the Maxiva XTK combines exceptional signal processing power, advanced Transport over IP (TSoIP) capabilities and software-defined flexibility to simplify digital broadcasting today while preparing networks for tomorrow’s transmission technologies,” said the company.
The exciter supports digital TV standards including DVB-T2, ATSC 1.0, ATSC 3.0, ISDB-Tb and Brazil’s DTV+.
GatesAir said the FPGA-based platform has increased processing capacity and incorporates Real-Time Adaptive Correction techniques that optimise signal performance across a range of RF amplifier configurations.
“The XTK establishes a common technology platform that supports today’s transmission requirements while creating a flexible foundation for future digital standards through simple firmware updates in the field,” added the company. The modular architecture also provides a path for optional internal satellite and RF input capabilities.
