DAZN extends Bundesliga streaming agreement in Germany and Switzerland

Deal covers nine live matches from the top-tier Bundesliga and four relegation matches between Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2

Sport streaming service DAZN has extended its extended its agreement with the German Football League to stream matches in Germany and Switzerland until the end of the current season.

The deal covers nine live matches from the top-tier Bundesliga and four relegation matches between Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2. The first match included in the agreement is the derby game between Hertha BSC and 1 FC Union Berlin.

DAZN has been showing Bundesliga matches throughout the 2019-20 season through a sublicensing deal it agreed with international media group Discovery for rights to 45 matches per season, which covered the 2019-20 and 2020-21 season.

Discovery is currently trying to terminate its agreement with the League, which has led to its agreement with DAZN.
