MediaKind has announced CNBC UK has deployed its Beam solution, aiming to deliver greater operational control across distributed locations.
As part of a project to modernise its contribution and distribution infrastructure, CNBC has integrated MK.IO Beam to enable low-latency, resilient processing across geographically divergent locations. The deployment aims to enable reliable transport of live news feeds across different locations, connecting studios, bureaus, downstream production and playout environments.
Neil Burt, senior director technical operations EMEA at CNBC UK, said, “For a global news organisation, speed and reliability are critical. The new architecture is designed around three priorities: low latency, resiliency and channel density, while giving our operational teams greater visibility and control across distributed infrastructure.”
Additionally, Beam allows processing licenses to operate independently of individual servers, providing CNBC with the flexibility to select appropriate infrastructure for each location.
