BBC serves up Wimbledon in Ultra HD again

All matches on centre court will be available in Ultra HD on BBC iPlayer and online

The BBC has announced it will make all matches on centre court at this year’s Wimbledon available in Ultra HD on iPlayer and online.

It’s the second time the broadcaster has made centre court games available in UHD, it streamed both Wimbledon 2021 and Euro 2020 in UHD on iPlayer last year.

The BBC and the All England Club are celebrating 85 years of television, and 95 years of radio, this year. They have the longest partnership in sports broadcasting history.

Sue Barker will be hosting TV coverage of the Championships for the final time as she bows out following 30 years at the helm of the BBC’s coverage.

As well as linear TV coverage, live streams of all available matches will be available on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website alongside video clips and highlights.

Barbara Slater, director of BBC Sport, said: “Wimbledon is a highlight of the British sporting calendar as the BBC brings the nation together for unmissable action across TV, radio and our digital platforms. This year is extra special for our audience given it’s the last tournament for Sue Barker as the BBC’s face and voice of Wimbledon. We look forward to enjoying Sue’s unique insight, engaging interviews and analysis of the action one final time, as she is joined by an unrivalled team of experts for the BBC’s comprehensive coverage across all our platforms.”

Wimbledon takes place from 27th June to 10th July
