HDC-P50A multi-purpose camera

Inheriting the features and performance of the HDC-P50, the new model’s 2/3-inch 3-chip 4K image sensor features global shutter function aiming to provide high flexibility in terms of installation. The camera supports IP transmission using the SMPTE ST 2110 standard and integrates with Sony’s Networked Live ecosystem.
The optional HZC-SFP5a licence enables the HDC-P50A to directly output in IP using SMPTE ST 2110, providing standalone compatibility with AMWA NMOS (Networked Media Open Specifications). Supporting IP Tally, the unit allows for direct IP output with no additional hardware.
It can be connected to the CNA-2 camera control network adaptor, enabling centralised monitoring and remote operations. An optional variable ND filter unit, HKC-VND50, is available. The HDC-P50A is equipped with the same 2/3-inch 3-chip 4K image sensor and prism as the multi-format HDC-5500 and HDC-3500 system cameras, Simplifying colour matching with existing systems.
“We’re seeing an increasing demand for high-quality video production in events such as sports and live performances, as well as a growing need for automation and IP compatibility in live production. With the release of this camera, Sony aims to meet the ever-diversifying needs of the video production industry,” said Norbert Paquet, head of live production, Sony Europe BV.
