Media Talent Manifesto has released more details about this year’s On Air 2026 event.
Returning after its 2025 debut, the event will feature a globally coordinated broadcast led by a team of 150 students based at the University of Westminster’s Harrow Campus.
A further 1,500 students are expected to participate in the 24-hour broadcast, representing schools, colleges and universities across six continents. Building on the success of On Air 2025, this year’s edition will feature five channels covering Culture, News, Sport, Film and Children’s content. Joining partners from across the industry such as TVBEurope and others, Appear, Cuez, Norsk and Ross Video have been confirmed as event supporters.
The continuous broadcast takes place over 22-23 October, with students making editorial decisions and working across presenting, directing, cameras, sound, graphics and playout.
Carrie Wootten, co-founder of the Media Talent Manifesto, said, “Talent is everywhere, but opportunities to prove it are not. On Air gives students a real live production experience, with an audience beyond their own campus and professionals who are there to back them. That shared commitment from education and industry is what makes this possible on a global scale, with students at the heart of the production.”
