ARRI introduces next-gen camera stabilisers

New modular system has been redesigned to add enhancements to camera movement, connectivity, power management, user interface, balance options, and product longevity

ARRI is introducing a second generation of its Trinity and Artemis camera stabilisers.

The new modular system has been redesigned to add enhancements to camera movement, connectivity, power management, user interface, balance options, and product longevity. ARRI said it has implemented a number of new features following feedback from customers.

According to the company, the Artemis 2 can be easily upgraded into Trinity 2, which adds electronic stabilisation for a wider range of movements and angles.

The battery system for both products has been redesigned, with a new, modular battery hanger able to facilitate what ARRI describes as “the most flexible, efficient, and dependable power management ever seen on a camera stabiliser system”. Batteries from any manufacturer will work with both systems.

In addition to the standard centre post, ARRI has introduced two new post lengths to both stabilisers. The longer Super Post allows more extreme camera positions and angles, either higher up or further out from the operator’s body, said the company, while the “Shorty Post” is suited to fast, agile work or space-constrained locations.

The next-gen release also includes a new sled with a “rock-solid bottom stage”, battery hanger, 19 mm rods, and new battery mounts. Rods are available in carbon, aluminium, or steel, giving operators additional counterweight opportunities when balancing their rigs, said the company.
