ITV Sport has signed a long-term agreement with AE Live for graphics for its horse racing coverage.
The company will provide a range of presentation and in-race graphics, including augmented reality (AR) content across 59 race meetings, which will be broadcast on 94 TX days.
AE’s in-house creative team has introduced a number of new templates to add to the existing graphics package, as well as new graphical elements such as infobars and timelines, and promotional graphics and other additions for VT.
The company delivered a range of AR content using Robycam to present graphics over the parade ring during ITV Sport’s coverage of this year’s Cheltenham Festival.
ITV Sport’s head of production operations, Ben Russell, said, “We are really pleased to have extended our relationship with AE Live to include horse racing as well as our other sports rights including football and rugby union.
“We were impressed with the innovative and creative ideas that they presented to ITV Sport and some of these really came to fruition at Cheltenham. We look forward to building upon them throughout the rest of this year and beyond.”
ITV Sport’s executive producer, Paul McNamara, added “It was great to work with AE Live and Robycam on the Cheltenham Festival. It’s been an ambition of ITV Racing to bring AR content to our coverage. The fantastic graphics helped to fill some of the holes left by the lack of spectators and provided real scale for such a wonderful festival of racing.”
