NDI has announced its ecosystem has surpassed 1.2 million hardware nodes globally, representing physical devices that can communicate using the standard.
Spanning more than 200 supporting hardware brands, the 1.2 million nodes reflect the extent of real-world NDI adoption, from live production and broadcast to pro AV, enterprise and more, said the company.
Organisations including Sky, BBC, CNBC, the NHL, and Chess.com use the standard to connect cameras, applications, devices, AI tools and more across scalable environments, enabling production teams to operate outside single-vendor infrastructure constraints.
As production workflows continue to utilise AI, NDI aims to position itself as the transportation layer to connect video, audio, metadata and control across AI-powered, future-ready AV experiences.
Head of NDI, Miguel Coutinho, said, “Behind every one of these 1.2 million nodes is a product, a team and a story being told. This milestone belongs to the entire NDI ecosystem: the manufacturers, developers, partners and creators who have made NDI the connective layer for modern video.”
