The RFD – 8W Intercom from DVLab is an 8-channel digital communication system featuring both wireless and Ethernet links.
It is intended to ensure communication between the director, cameraman, gaffer and other broadcast and production personnel. The director can select to talk to an individual channel, all channels or a group simultaneously.
The communication system provides duplex communication, as well as transmission of signal indication and control from and to the camera, including Tally. Digital processing and wireless transmission allows the unit to deliver high parameters relative to noise and combine the transmission of audio and control information.
PC remote control for setting and firmware upgrade of the system is possible via Ethernet.
The RFD – 8W Intercom has a frequency range of 868 MHz, 915 MHz or 2.4 GHz and features FHSS with TDMA radio frequency scheme and GFSK modulation. It has a range of up to 1km.
In the wired version, signals are transmitted via local lines based on conventional computer networks with the use of standard routing devices (switcher, router, hub) and UTP cable.
