Broadcasters are being given the opportunity to launch live and linear OTT channels on the cloud, and to operate a unified platform for linear, catch up, and video on demand (VoD) TV, all without the need for additional hardware.
Cloudport OTT from Amagi provides tools for dynamic graphics, digital video effects, and real-time social media integration as well as the ability to switch to live feeds.
It is equipped with a live MCR capability on the cloud, and the entire OTT playout workflow can be managed remotely using a web-based user interface.

It is built on a secure, reliable, and scalable Amazon AWS cloud infrastructure, complete with an in-built feature to block geospecific content to manage content rights obligations.”
Cloudport OTT works with Amagi’s server-side OTT ad inserter Thunderstorm. Together the two products create what Amagi describes as an “integrated platform for OTT playout and monetisation that simplifies overall operations”.
Amagi is also showing enhancements to its Storm regionalisation platform. Using Storm, broadcasters can insert local advertising and local content, without using separate satellite feeds, to match viewer preferences and abide by relevant broadcasting regulations.
Storm version 2.0 also includes a new ASI and IP output interface with support for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 formats, a new SDI input interface, multichannel ad insertion, time-shift capability and Dolby support.
