Teracom Boxer has launched a new live TV and VoD streaming service across Sweden and Denmark. Norigin Media, from neighbouring Norway, have been selected to license its multiscreen TV apps product with custom integrations to the video platform managed by Boxer.

“We are excited to launch Boxer Play in Scandinavia with Norigin´s Hybrid Apps product to meet the expectations of this mature market” said Hanna Lindqvist, director of product management at Teracom Group. “The user experience and design have been very important for us and we have spent a lot of effort on getting it right. We have taken a lot of consideration to ensure the robust evolution in spite of a very fragmented device market.”

Norigin Media’s Hybrid Apps product is a multiscreen application suite, which utilises the benefits of HTML5 within natively coded applications, for common implementation. The Hybrid Apps were integrated via ready plugins to Boxer’s chosen video platform. The product supports devices devices ranging from connected TVs, game consoles, tablets, PCs, Macs and smartphones.

Ajey Anand, chief commercial officer commented: “Launching a new TV service in Scandinavia is always exciting as this is clearly the hub for the fittest of streaming services. Boxer Play is entering this space at a time where Play Services have taken a central focus in peoples´ homes, here in the region. Being selected to partner with Boxer to roll-out our flagship product within our home market, is yet another personal victory for us at Norigin.”

Boxer TV is one of the Nordic region’s largest pay TV companies and has been delivering content on the Swedish DTT network since 1999. The company currently offers over 50 live channels and a video on-demand catalogue to 900,000 subscribing households in the region.
