Android STBs on show

Two products are centre stage at IBC for DataMax.

The DM12 is an Android TV box, running on the 5.1 version of the operating system. Its processor is the Amlogic S905 quad core CPU operating at 2.0Ghz, supported by Mali-450 PentaCore graphics processing unit and 2GB of DDR3 memory.

Compact at 100mm x 100mm x 19mm and weighing 130g, it features two USB2.0 ports. Bluetooth 4.0 is an option and a MicroSD card slot is provided. Video out is via HDMI and AV, audio out is via HDMI, AV and S/PDIF. WiFi is supported by an external dongle.

The DM14 is an Android DVB-T2/C/S2 box, running the same version of the OS.

At its heart is an Amlogic S905 Quad Core Cortex A53 64-bit processor running at 1.5Ghz, supported by the same GPU as the DM12.

Slightly larger and heavier than the DM12 at 115mm x 115mm x 28mm and weighing 200g, it includes 802.11b/g/n WiFi as well as an RJ45 10/100M port. As with
the DM12, Bluetooth 4.0 is optionally available, and a MicroSD card slot is featured. The DM14 offers three USB2.0 ports.
