Pixitmedia introduces partner programme, MediaKind enters Android TV market, and more

TVBEurope round-up the latest news from pixitmedia, MediaKind and Never.no

Pixitmedia has launched a new partner programme to support its technology and reseller partners.

The initiative offers partners support, product training, sales guidance, and access to pixitmedia labs to test the effectiveness of a customer solution “off-site”, so to avoid disrupting an operating studio pipeline.

Paul Cameron, global MD, pixitmedia said: “Our global growth strategy centres around enabling and growing our partner base so that they can be an extension of us.”

MediaKind enters Android TV market

MediaKind has announced new client solution Mediaroom Play, which enables operators to rapidly integrate their pay-TV services within the Android TV ecosystem.

Mediaroom Play is a set top box-based client solution within the MediaKind Mediaroom portfolio, developed on the Android TV operating system. The pre-integrated product provides a tested, reliable, and market-ready solution for the rapid launch of new STBs powered by Android TV.

The pre-integration includes CommScope’s latest VIP7802 set-top which utilises Broadcom’s 72180 system-on-a-chip (SoC), ruwido remote control unit, and support for a number of premium streaming service applications.

Raul Aldrey, chief product officer, MediaKind, said: “With this major new investment, we are enabling existing and new Mediaroom customers to rapidly launch modern video services that meet today’s consumers’ needs while also encompassing the vast array of converged experiences offered by Android TV. This pre-integrated, robust solution enables our customers to evolve from being video-only service providers to multi-service providers, tapping into Android TV’s abundant consumer experience offerings.”

Never.no integrates WhatsApp into its Cloud platform, Bee-On

Audience engagement company Never.no has integrated WhatsApp, improved graphics timeline management, advanced Twitter trends and debuted a new user-support platform for its Cloud-based social and content management platform, Bee-On.

The new features will offer producers of digital and broadcast content new ways to reach and engage with audiences.

“Different generations are using a wide range of platforms to communicate with friends, loved-ones, colleagues and brands, so we wanted to ensure that Bee-On users were able to interact with their target audience on those very platforms,” said Scott Davies, Never.no’s CEO.

“Traditionally, broadcasters and brands run competitions via SMS, email and phone-ins, now WhatsApp integration will enhance those campaigns, enabling entrants to easily interact using a platform they use daily, and receive instant personalised responses, en masse” added Davies.

Following the recent introduction of Twitter trends to Bee-On, the feature now offers a more in-depth analytical tool enabling users to investigate and manage the most influential Tweets within a seven-day timeline.
