Active Cloud Streaming scoops distribution deals for CYMTV

CyberMedia Television (CYMTV) has closed deals for live TV channel packages thanks to its Active Cloud Streaming system

CyberMedia Television (CYMTV) has closed deals for live TV channel packages thanks to its Active Cloud Streaming system.

The Dutch company is now the official provider of Turkish, Vietnamese and Indian TV channels as well as a selection of SPI’s channels (including FightBox, FashionBox and more).

The channels are delivered to end users by CYMTV’s subsidiary Mobile Vision, by means of an app for Android devices. Active Cloud Streaming technology is said to save up to 90% on bandwidth, and will be demonstrated on CYMTV’s IBC stand.

Also on show is StreamUnlimited which is described as a turn-key package for content owners and/or distributors who wish to offer linear TV channels to a worldwide audience for a low, fixed fee. Customers are provided with a management system including billing, as well as personalised, self-branded apps for Android and iOS for them to distribute either for free or as pay-TV options.

Pluggy (pictured) is CYMTV’s hardware upgrade for non-Smart TVs, in order to provide them with Internet access. Running on the Android operating system, the company said it was a simple-to-use dongle that plugs into an HDMI socket. It can be operated by the user’s mobile phone acting as a remote control. Pluggy offers extra options for collecting metadata and monetising content, as well as advertising.
