has acquired Hollywood-based (DPS) as part of its global acquisitions strategy.
DPS is a digital media services company specialising in digital cinema packaging, digital distribution and quality control.
The acquisition is said to continue Visual Data’s expansion into the LA market, leveraging the expertise of DPS staff to be based at the Visual Data facility in Burbank.
Visual Data Media Services CEO John Trautman said: “There is a huge amount of uncertainty in the sector at the moment, with some major players getting their strategy wrong.
“Our investment in DPS shows that an ambitious company with the right business models in place can continue to scale, invest and grow in a sustainable manner.
“We are delighted that the DPS team has joined Visual Data and look forward to expanding the services we offer to our LA and worldwide client base as a result,” he added.
The acquisition was finalised on 1st February 2020. Financial details were not disclosed.
