Sam Tewunga moves into CEO role at UKTV

Currently MD at the company, Tewunga takes on the CEO position having played a pivotal role in securing and strengthening partnerships and distribution agreements for the broadcaster

UKTV has announced Sam Tewunga has been appointed as chief executive officer, and will take up the position from April 1st. Currently MD at the company, the move will see Tewunga take on responsibility for the broadcaster’s overall strategic direction and performance.

Joining BBC Studios as commercial director for TV sales in 2013, Tewunga played an integral role in the corporation’s acquisition of UKTV, before moving to join the UKTV board as CCO in 2019 and becoming MD four years later.

The promotion will see Tewunga lead UKTV’s continued growth across its channels and the U free streaming service, focusing on partnerships to extend the reach of the company’s brands and services.
