Nielsen appoints Jared Grusd as Gracenote CEO

Grusd brings a wealth of experience gained at companies such as Spotify, Google and HuffPost, said Nielsen

Nielsen has announced Jared Grusn has joined the company as chief executive officer of Gracenote.

As the content data business unit of Nielsen, Gracenote provides entertainment metadata, content IDs and related offerings to creators, distributors and platforms, providing analytics and enabling content navigation.

Grusd joins the company following a career that includes serving as chief strategy officer at Snapchat, Chime and AOL, as well as chief legal officer at Spotify and CEO at HuffPost. He has also held senior executive positions at other organisations, including Google. Most recently, he co-founded Ethiqly AI, an educational technology company.

The appointment is aimed at accelerating growth and driving product development as Nielsen continues its Convergent TV strategy.
