BritBox UK MD Will Harrison to step down

Responsibility for BritBox UK will now fall under the remit of Rufus Radcliffe, ITV managing director of streaming

The managing director of BritBox UK will step down from his role, and will not replaced.

Will Harrison’s decision follows the announcement last week that ITV intends to roll BritBox content into its new streaming service, ITVX.

BritBox UK is now solely owned by ITV after the BBC announced it would no longer be a shareholder “to ease its integration into ITVX”.

Harrison joined BritBox UK in January 2020, taking over from Reemah Sakaan who was appointed chief brand and creative development officer for BritBox Global.

Responsibility for BritBox UK will now fall under the remit of Rufus Radcliffe, ITV managing director of streaming.

“Will has played an outstanding role building up BritBox’s strong UK subscriber base. As the service moves into the next phase of its evolution as part of ITVX, Will has chosen to explore new opportunities and we wish him every success in the future,” said Radcliffe.

Harrison added: “I’m grateful to the entire BritBox team for all they have achieved, and to ITV and BBC for entrusting their joint venture to my leadership.”
