Mobilelinks has announced the acquisition of 2 SAT Europe in a collaboration aiming to strengthen the SNG business area.
Mobilelinks, which provides satellite contribution services and operates a pan-European fibre network for media contribution and distribution, said merging with 2 SAT Europe will increase its fleet of SNG (Satellite News Gathering) trucks to 15.
Mobilelinks’ fibre capacity into the Netherlands will also increase, with multiple 100G connections to its core Nimbra network infrastructure.
Several top-tier leagues and events are transported over Mobilelinks’ network, including football, ice hockey and esports as well as entertainment shows, said the company. The increase in fleet size will reduce travel distances, aligning with sustainability goals.
Andreas Langell, CEO at Mobilelinks, said: “It’s been a fantastic expansion of our network and a true honour to experience this huge trust from our clients.”
“We have a long history of cooperation, and we now see that this merger would create the
possibility to make investments to support our clients’ inputs,” added 2 SAT CEO, Marco van den Top.
