French production giant Mediawan has announced the acquisition of Legardère Studios.
The acquisition gives Mediawan control of Lagardère’s 25 production subsidiaries, as well as its distribution business which has a catalogue of around 10,000 hours of programming.
Mediawan said the acquisition reinforces its production capacity through strong brands in France and Spain, and increases its geographical presence in Europe with the Netherlands (Skyhigh TV) and Finland (Aito Media).
