Liberty Global has reportedly put Virgin Media Ireland up for sale following the recent merger of its UK business with O2.
According to the Sunday Times, Liberty Global has hired an investment back to “sound out” buyers for its Irish operations.
The report suggests the company could be sold for up to up to €2 billion (£1.7 billion).
The Irish cable network has 319,000 subscribers to its television service. It also owns TV3 Group, the only commercial television broadcaster in the country, which was rebranded Virgin Media Television
Liberty Global and Telefonica first announced plans to merge their UK business in a deal worth £24 billion in May 2020.
