Google to speak at TVBEurope’s MediaTech 360

Justin Gupta, head of UK broadcast and entertainment, will speak on Day Two

TVBEurope is delighted to confirm Google’s Justin Gupta as a speaker at MediaTech 360.

Gupta, who serves as head of UK broadcast and entertainment for the multinational technology giant, will be taking part in the Keynote panel session ‘TV is not dead, it is reborn’ on Day Two of the MediaTech 360 Summit on Thursday 8th June.

He will join Richard Welsh, chief executive of Sundog Media Toolkit, and Mark Harrison, DPP managing director, to discuss the next generation of TV – exploring consumer habits, and whether the increasing influence of tech giants in media is a threat, or a collaborative opportunity.

The Keynote session will also contemplate whether the broadcaster’s traditional strength is being eroded by exclusively commissioned content (such as Netflix and Amazon), and by the financial and production assistance given to UGC (such as YouTube).

Further MediaTech 360 speakers confirmed this week include:

– Richard Halton, CEO, YouView
– Sinead Greenaway, director of operations and technology, UKTV
– Tom Griffiths, director of broadcast and distribution technology, ITV
– Alex Holt, partner, head of tmt, KPMG
– Ronald Meyvisch, CTO, Euro Media Group
– Nick Verkroost, COO, Seenit

MediaTech 360 is spearheaded by the centrepiece two-day Summit and also includes a series of affiliated webinars, roundtables, and briefings; the 2017 TVBAwards; and a broadcast pro audio evening, PSNPresents.

The Summit (7th and 8th June at Millennium Mayfair, London) will focus on the industry’s pursuit of standardised IP enablement while addressing how disruptive technology and trends are impacting the strategies and business models of all stakeholders in the media and entertainment industry.
