Google has acquired US-based Cloud company Alooma in a move that analysts believe will help the tech giant catch up with the likes of Amazon and Microsoft.
According to technology analysts Canalys, Google Cloud held 8.5 per cent of worldwide Cloud market share at the end of 2018, compared to Amazon Web Services’ 31.7 per cent share and Microsoft Azure’s 16.8 per cent.
Alooma helps enterprise companies streamline database migration in the Cloud with a tool that enables moving data from multiple sources to a single data warehouse.
Financial details of the acquisition have not been revealed.
