Edgeware has become the latest media company to join the Streaming Video Alliance.
The TV CDN provider joins a host of industry figures including Sky, IBM, Cisco, Intel, Fox Networks, Nokia, MLBAM, Comcast and NBCUniversal to “help create best practices for online video going forward.”
The Alliance is a member-based industry body that develops, publishes, and promotes open standards, policies, and best practices that foster collaboration within the streaming video ecosystem and support continued consumer adoption.
Edgeware CTO Goran Appelquist (pictured) said: “As online video consumption continues to grow, ensuring quality, both in terms of production values, and delivery is becoming increasingly important.
“With our pioneering TV CDN technology, we bring expertise to the Streaming Video Alliance in delivering the best possible online viewing experience, while eliminating buffering, delays and glitches.”
