Channel 4’s Indie Growth Fund has taken a minority stake in True Vision Yorkshire, an indie production company based in Leeds.
The fund was launched in 2014 to aid growth and development of local creative businesses. It has previously invested in another Leeds production company, True North. Last year Channel 4 selected Leeds as home to its new HQ.
True Vision Yorkshire has produced such factual programming as Behind Closed Doors (BBC) and The Truth About Muslim Marriage (Channel 4).
Channel 4 director of commercial affairs Martin Baker said: “This deal reinforces Channel 4’s commitment to driving growth in the creative industries outside London. As we prepare to set up our new HQ in Leeds, there could not be a better time to invest in a growing Leeds-based Indie.”
