BBC and dock10 join HDR webinar

HDR: Bright prospects ahead, but where are we now? takes place on 13th June

The BBC and dock10 have joined the speakers line-up for TVBEurope and Rohde & Schwarz’s HDR webinar on 13th June.

HDR: Bright prospects ahead, but where are we now? takes place at 3pm BST.

Joining David Smith, technology manager at Rohde & Schwarz, will be Andy Quested, technology strategy and architecture, BBC, and dock10’s chief technology officer, Paul Clennell.

The trio will discuss current technology and real-world deployments, including:

  • The WOW factor: Why HDR?
  • HDR standards: HLG, PQ or HDR10 variants?
  • Content availability: HD or UHD?
  • Consumer displays: Mobile phones or 4K/8K TV?
  • HDR distribution: Broadcast, OTT or 4G/5G?

The free webinar will look at HDR in general and the different variants that have emerged. The drive for 4K, or even 8K, content and displays is contrasted with consumers’ willingness to watch full HD with HDR on the latest mobile phone displays.
