Amazon Prime hits 150 million subscribers

AWS reported revenue growth of 34 per cent for Q4 2019

Amazon has revealed its Prime service now has 150 million subscribers worldwide.

The company last revealed Prime subscriber numbers in April 2018, saying it had more than 100 million members. It never reveals how many of its Prime subscribers watch the video side of the service.

The figure was revealed as part’s of Amazon’s fourth-quarter results. Overall, Amazon reported revenue grew 21 per cent to $87.44 billion for the quarter.

Amazon Web Services reported $9.95 billion in sales, up 34 per cent year-on-year, beating analysts’ expectations of $9.81 billion. AWS operating income was $2.6 billion, up 19 per cent from the same period in 2018.
