Netflix rolls out spatial audio support

Rollout began on Wednesday, with more users expected to see it in the coming days

Netflix is rolling out out support for spacial audio on iPhone and iPad.

It will be available as an option in the Control Center for ‌iPhone‌ and ‌iPad‌s for running iOS 14 and iOS 15. However, viewers will need to listen using AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.

Spatial Audio is designed to create an immersive audio experience by using directional filters to make sound feel as if it’s coming from multiple directions at once.

The rollout began on Wednesday, with more users expected to see it in the coming days.

The launch brings Netflix in line with rival platforms already offering the feature – including Disney Plus, HBO Max, and (unsurprisingly) Apple TV Plus.
