Moments Lab provides human-like video understanding with AI-driven public API

The AI-driven solution generates editable, text-based metadata enabling content search, recommendation and curation

Moments Lab has announced the release of a public API for its MXT AI-powered indexing solution.

Integrating searchable metadata into any software, Moments Lab’s new API (application programming interface) provides organisations with statistical insights into their content, providing AI-driven human-like descriptions, said the company.

Capable of identifying people, logos, shot types, speech, landmarks and able to select impactful quotes within a transcript, the solution enables content search, curation and recommendation.

Organisations’ files are temporarily stored and analysed by Moments Lab’s MXT, before the editable, text-based metadata is sent to an existing DAM, MAM, CMS or other software, said the company.

Frederic Petitpont, Moments Lab co-founder and CTO, said, “When we first released MXT, many people asked us how they could embed our video understanding technology within their own product, and leverage the data to boost content discoverability or serve other use cases,. Our API is here to enable them to do just that, unlocking enhanced searchability, contextual insights, and new ROI opportunities.”
