The National Film and TV School (NFTS) is partnering with Lucasfilm on a new “studio experience” programme, enabling students to learn more about lighting and compositing for VFX as well as virtual production.
According to the NFTS, the programme will explore the latest advances in technology, and offer aspiring artists, technicians and filmmakers “an unrivalled chance to step behind the scenes and immerse themselves in the future of filmmaking”.
Students on the course will be able to visit Pinewood Studios to visit key Lucasfilm facilities and meet Lucasfilm executives, technologists and creative leaders.
In addition, up to ten students each year will be selected to take part in the Lucasfilm Studio Experience Programme: a one-week immersive placement within Lucasfilm productions at Pinewood Studios, where they will spend time across multiple specialist departments, gaining a broader understanding of how creative, technical and production teams collaborate to deliver ambitious screen stories.
