Twitter to livestream Wimbledon Championships

Content will include news, interviews, behind the scenes footage and selected highlights

Twitter has partnered with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) to livestream its Wimbledon Channel.

Content will include coverage from around the Club, such as news, interviews, behind the scenes footage and selected highlights.

The livestream of the Wimbledon Channel is supported by the AELTC’s broadcast partners and will be accessible through the Wimbledon Twitter channel. It will also include a real-time curated timeline of tweets involving live conversation surrounding the Championships.

Mick Desmond, commercial and media director of The All England Club, said the AELTC were “pleased to be evolving the offering from last year’s initial livestream test, which was the first premium live video collaboration on Twitter.”

Twitter’s chief operating officer, Anthony Noto, added: “The All England Club continue to transform the experience for fans on Twitter, a place where tennis conversation is happening live in real time every day. Our collaboration with the All England Club will provide fans on Twitter access to coverage from around the Grounds from Wimbledon 2017, while following the conversation all on one screen.”
