Social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) is reportedly working on developing its own television app for Amazon and Samsung Smart TVs.
According to Fortune, the app could be launched this week.
The report cites a source who says X owner Elon Musk wants to compete with the likes of YouTube, Twitch and Reddit in offering long-form video.
Earlier this year X announced that it was now a “video-first platform” as it unveiled its latest video feature.

According to reports, X released an early version of the application for some users in October last year to test video and audio calling in a bid to turn the “super app” into offering messaging and online payment features.
