Roku has launched an Apple Watch app for controlling the Roku player.
Like the Roku mobile app, the watch version allows users to play and pause the TV and navigate menus using a ‘home’ button, ‘select’, ‘back’ and directional arrows. Viewers can also launch their favourite channels as organised in the order they were most recently used.
The app additionally includes voice search functionality, activated by tapping the voice icon and saying “Launch Hulu”, “search for comedies” or “switch to HDMI 1” for your Roku TV.
The remote app is available by upgrading the Roku iOS app to the latest version (6.1.3) and enabling “Automatic App Install” on Apple Watch settings.
