Netflix rolls out Top 10 feature

Trialled in the UK and Mexico over the last six months

Netflix has unveiled a new Top 10 feature, whereby a list of the most popular titles in the viewer’s country will be updated every day.

The streaming service has been trialling the new feature in the UK and Mexico over the last six months, noting that “members in both countries have found them useful, so we are now rolling them out to even more.”

The Top 10 list will appear as a numbered row on the homepage, showing the most popular TV shows and movies. “The position of the row will vary depending on how relevant the shows and films are to you,” Netflix said.

Those titles that make the list will also display a Top 10 badge, making them identifiable while browsing.

This is the latest in a line of recommendation features introduced by Netflix, which uses an algorithm to select content likely to appeal to the user.
