MTV UK announces Wireless broadcast partnership

Live coverage of the festival will reach a potential audience of almost 30 million

MTV UK has announced that it will be returning to Wireless Festival as the official broadcast partner of the 2018 outing.

Coverage of the event will broadcast simultaneously across a selection of MTV’s international network, including MTV UK, MTV Music, MTV Base and MTV Live HD, reaching a potential audience of 29 million people.

Wireless will take place in London’s Finsbury Park on the 6th to 8th July and is set to attract more than 150,000 festival goers across the weekend. The annual, open-air live music festival will feature performances from global music stars J. Cole, Post Malone and Migos, to local artists Stormzy, Giggs and Big Shaq.

As exclusive broadcast partner, MTV will transmit a selection of live highlights from the main stage. It will produce 15 x 30-minute standalone shows with individual artists and an hour-long highlights special that will air later in July. All shows will broadcast on the international MTV Live HD feed, which goes out in over 90 territories across the world (ex US).

Jeremy Davies, director of music, commissioning & development, MTV UK said: “Wireless Festival is the hottest ticket of the summer festival season, representing the very best in urban music and big name acts. MTV’s roots are in music, so we’re delighted to be teaming up with Live Nation once more to broadcast this top line-up, including many home-grown stars, to viewers across the globe.”
