The UK government is funding a two-week-long bootcamp at Sky Elstree, which aims to give broadcast technical assistants hands-on industry training.
The bootcamp, which takes place in November, is being funded by the Department for Education through Buckinghamshire Council.
The course, organised by the Global Media and Entertainment Talent Manifesto in partnership with All Spring Media, will cover areas such as audio/video capture and editing, IP-based broadcast systems and file-based workflows.
Applications are open to:
- Adults aged 19+ living in England
- Those seeking a career in the media technology industry
- People already working in the sector who want to upskill or retrain
- Individuals considering a career change into technical media roles
- No formal qualifications are required – just a passion for how broadcast systems work. Applicants must also have the right to work in the UK.
“The Skills Bootcamps programme is about giving people real, practical training that leads directly into work,” said Carrie Wootten, CEO, Media Talent Manifesto. “This Media Technology Bootcamp will equip learners not just with technical know-how but with the confidence and problem-solving skills that employers in the media technology sector are looking for.”
“For anyone curious about the behind-the-scenes technology that powers TV, film, and digital content, this is a unique opportunity,” added Martina Porter, managing director, All Spring Media. “It’s about giving people the skills, behaviours, and confidence to thrive in a fast-changing industry.”
