Telefonica’s Movistar will reportedly incorporate Artificial Intelligence in its pay-TV offering from 2018.
According to El Economista, Movistar will use AI voice recognition system Aura, which was unveiled by parent company Telefonica in February. The functionality will allow users to search for content using a voice-activated remote.
The newspaper also says Movistar’s Interactive Live TV will allow viewers to capture video and share it instantly with their contacts without the need for a smartphone, tablet or PC.
4K technology will be incorporated into new decoders that it will introduce next April and its interactive TV service will also include personalised advertising.
