MOOV is set to celebrate its tenth year of providing graphics for the annual Sports Personality of the Year award ceremony when it airs at the SSE Arena in Belfast on 20 December.
The sports and events graphics company offer the ceremony live graphics and well as various creative aspects, such as opening titles and screen content for the arena stage.
Paul Davies, executive producer at BBC Sport, said, “For the past decade, MOOV has ensured SPOTY’s graphical content meets the very high standards we set. Responding to brief, as well as venue and show content, MOOV have played their part in helping the BBC design a fresh look for this iconic show, year after year.”
MOOV designed the package with Cinema 4D and Adobe After Effects, including the voting sequence, award stings and Sports Personality logo, and use Chyron systems to provide fast graphic play out ability, as well as effect sequences.
Nev Appleton, director and creative lead on sports personality, MOOV Limited, said, “BBC Sports Personality has certainly come on a long way since I first experienced it in the late 90’s. It’s changed from an intimate yearly review at BBC Television Centre to a monster of a sporting entertainment show selling out arenas across the UK.
“There’s so much more around a show like this now and we deliver logos and animations months in advance to online, print and regional as everyone readies for the big night. In the arena we have designers and operators providing content for background studio screens, VT, and of course the live voting graphics.”
